Meals on Wheels of Lee’s Summit celebrates 50 years of service, and the volunteers who made it possible

A celebration of current and past volunteers

On September 21, 2024, Meals on Wheels of Lee's Summit celebrated its 50th Anniversary at John Knox Village and thanked past and current volunteers for their support. Founders Lois Elbel and Linda Dempsey were in attendance and were honored. Meals on Wheel of Lee's Summit's Board President, Susie Newsam, spoke. Guest speakers also included Gabe Clements, CEO Lee's Summit Medical Center, and Jenni Edwards, MOWLS Operations Director.
